Nile House will be completed by the end of 2005. Expect to be impressed by the quality of the design and specification.
Clad in greenish grey granite, the stylish look of the exterior is continued inside, with grey and off-white natural stone (Prague mosaic) on the ground floor and either terrazzo or natural stone floors in the common areas.
With seven floors above ground and two levels of garaged parking and services below, Nile House comprises 17,650 m2 office space, net, and a further 1,700 m2 cafés, restaurants and retail.
The heart of the building is an outstanding light, hi-tech, glass atrium: transparent from the outside to expose the activities of business life inside, and transparent from the inside to expose attractive views that can be enjoyed from each office.
The staircase will be the focus of the atrium: a giant sculptural stainless steel folded helix emphasising the very nature of the building. The atrium is doubleglazed for heat retention and soundproofing and houses live vegetation.
Together with the Danube House, the two buildings can be recognised as belonging to one family but with different atmospheres and features, thus achieving a new urban location that is greater than the sum of its parts.
